Montreal rock ‘n’ roll and indie band The Satisfactory have released their self-titled debut album, out now. The record arrives after a run of singles over the past several months and is the band’s first full-length release.
The album pulls from late ’60s and early ’70s rock traditions while staying grounded in modern indie. Across its tracks it moves between dreamy folk passages, guitar-forward rock songs, and hazier psychedelic turns. Harmonica recurs throughout as one of the record’s defining textures, giving the songs a loose, warm quality. The band describes the album as built around instinct, melody, and chemistry rather than a fixed formula.
The rollout has drawn support from Exclaim’s Eh-List, Ones To Watch’s #NowWatching, and Spotify’s Alt_QC playlist, along with radio play across Canada and the U.K. For a Montreal band issuing a first LP, that is a notable amount of early traction, and it places The Satisfactory among the local indie acts worth following as the summer release season fills out.
The self-titled album is available now on streaming platforms. The band’s music and tour information can be found through their website and Instagram.
