Fat Dog Share Woofstock Video for “Call It What You Want”

Fat Dog have released “Call It What You Want,” the fourth single from their second album Cancel Me (I’m Tired), out October 2 on Domino. The track landed today as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record, and it arrives with a video assembled from footage of Woofstock, an outdoor pop-up show in Bermondsey, south London, that pulled around 500 fans last week. Whether band member Chris Hughes performed nude in homage to Flea’s Woodstock 1999 appearance is, according to the band, unconfirmed.

The song runs post-punk fury into rave synths, and frontman Joe Love traces its lyrics back to his own family. “That’s me looking at people in my family and their problems and thinking, ‘Is it gonna be the same for me? Is it in my DNA?'” he says.

The South London seven-piece broke through with their 2024 debut WOOF. and have spent most of the time since on the road. They played four shows in 27 hours at Glastonbury last year, which The Times called “show of the weekend,” while NME settled on “unserious, unhinged and sensational.” The title of the new record is a fairly direct account of what came next: they went around the world, and they are tired.

Love started work on album two a day after landing home from a US tour that took a toll on everyone involved. “At some point on that tour, everyone had a small breakdown of some sort,” says Hughes, who recalls losing it in Los Angeles and bashing his head against a wall while wearing an American football helmet. The same run had its upside: Love proposed to his girlfriend in San Francisco and got married in Vegas the day after playing a gig to two people.

On WOOF. Love wrote the lyrics last and let the music lead. This time he had more to say, and the album takes in addiction, family ties, love, AI, ancestry, extraterrestrials, Chris Tarrant, S&M, B&M, H&M and M&Ms. Cancel Me (I’m Tired) is available on exclusive picture disc vinyl in a PVC sleeve, translucent green vinyl, standard black vinyl, CD and digitally.

Montreal audiences got an early look at this version of the band last September, when Fat Dog played La Toscadura on the Saturday night of POP Montreal 2025, crammed onto a small Mile End stage and sounding like a portal back to the mid-2000s New Rave era. There is no Canadian date on the current run. Alongside the single the band have confirmed their first ever Australian tour in December plus further UK outstores in November, with US dates to be announced.

Fat Dog are Joe Love, Chris Hughes, Morgan Wallace, Ellis Dickson, Michael Dunlop, Dillon Harrison and Jed Bevington.
