Cœur de Pirate Revives Child of Light Soundtrack on Vinyl

Ten years after its release, Ubisoft’s Child of Light continues to resonate, and its musical legacy is getting a fresh spotlight. Cœur de pirate, the Montreal-based singer-songwriter behind the game’s evocative soundtrack, has teamed up with Ubisoft once more to release the score on vinyl—a long-awaited collector’s item for fans.

The original soundtrack, composed by Béatrice Martin (better known as Cœur de pirate), played a crucial role in defining the game’s ethereal atmosphere. Featuring a blend of piano-driven melodies and haunting vocal tracks, the album has garnered over 60 million streams across platforms since its debut. The vinyl edition, which hit stores today, is a nod to the enduring appeal of both the game and its music.

For Martin, the project offered an opportunity to explore new creative terrain. “This soundtrack allowed me to step into a different world musically, one that aligned with the poetic and immersive nature of the game,” she reflected in a recent statement. Her work on Child of Light has been widely praised for enhancing the game’s narrative, which follows a young girl’s journey through a dreamlike world inspired by fairy tales and folklore.

Produced in limited quantities, the vinyl features exclusive anniversary artwork created for the occasion. Manufactured in Quebec and Europe, the release has been carefully crafted to appeal to both gaming enthusiasts and vinyl collectors. It’s available now at select record stores and through Ubisoft’s Bravo store.

The collaboration between Ubisoft Montreal and Martin underscores the rich vein of creativity in Quebec’s artistic community. Since its release, Child of Light has been celebrated as a standout example of Canadian ingenuity in the gaming industry, earning awards for its design and music alike.
