Montreal-based electro-pop duo Milk & Bone are set to mark a new chapter in their career with the release of Baby Dreamer, a five-track EP scheduled for January 17, 2025, via Nettwerk Music Group. Known for their ethereal soundscapes and deeply emotive lyrics, Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin have teased this upcoming collection with “Forgone,” the EP’s third single, which features on the soundtrack for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, a video project also scored by the pair.
The new track is a brooding, 80s-inspired piece, layered with arpeggiated basslines and haunting vocals that echo the duo’s earlier work, particularly “Natalie,” their most-streamed song to date. Camille and Laurence describe the song as a sonic exploration of limerence, the emotional turbulence of obsession, and the quiet chaos of unreciprocated longing.
“While writing Forgone with director Micah Jasper , we could instantly project ourselves during the night. There was something both disturbing and very intimate that settled in the more we worked on the track. Something that was moving forward. Listening to it, we could imagine driving at night, dancing, walking quickly, visually the universe of the song was so clear. Until now, our videos always focused on aesthetics. We’ve always presented ourselves on screen in more stoic ways, so it was refreshing to be able to explore other ways of presenting ourselves. We are so grateful to have been able to create this video with Gerardo Alcaine , in whom we had complete trust. He was able to bring our vision of the song to life and push it even further.” explain Camille and Laurence .
The accompanying music video is a stark departure from Milk & Bone’s usual aesthetic. Eschewing their traditionally minimalist visuals, the video leans into a narrative style that further explores the themes of yearning and movement embedded in the song.

The EP’s release will coincide with a significant milestone for the duo: the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Little Mourning. Milk & Bone will celebrate the occasion with a special performance at Montreal’s Société des arts technologiques (SAT) on March 7, 2025. The show promises to be a retrospective of their decade-long journey, revisiting the album that first propelled them into Canada’s indie spotlight.
Tickets for the anniversary show go on sale this month, with Baby Dreamer available for pre-save now.
