AC/DC Return to Montreal on Power Up Tour

With summer 2026 feeling like a lifetime away, Montreal rock fans have something substantial to mark on their calendars. AC/DC have confirmed a September 12, 2026 stop at Parc Jean-Drapeau, marking the band’s first return to the city in nearly a decade and one of the key Canadian dates on their expanding Power Up world tour.

The lineup remains anchored by founding guitarist Angus Young and vocalist Brian Johnson, with Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums, and Chris Chaney on bass. The tour, named after the band’s 2020 album Power Up, has already swept through Europe and Australia since launching in 2024. The North American leg will hit Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on August 9, Vancouver’s BC Place on August 13, and Toronto’s Rogers Centre on September 16, bookending the Montreal show.

Power Up was something of a comeback statement for AC/DC, their first studio release since 2014’s Rock or Bust and a tribute to the late Malcolm Young, whose rhythm guitar work defined the band’s DNA. The record proved the group could still deliver their signature hard-charging anthems without leaning entirely on nostalgia, even as the lineup shifted around its core members. Now, six years later, they’re bringing that momentum to stadium-scale stages across the continent, complete with the pyro, lights, and relentless energy that have kept them relevant for over five decades.

For Montreal, the timing is notable. Just nine days earlier, Iron Maiden will bring their Run for Your Lives tour to the same venue with Megadeth and Anthrax in tow. Parc Jean-Drapeau is shaping up to be ground zero for classic rock’s elder statesmen next September, a reminder that the city’s appetite for large-scale, open-air rock spectacles remains undiminished. The venue’s skyline views and festival-ready infrastructure make it an ideal setting for the kind of communal, high-volume experience AC/DC have specialized in since the 1970s.

Tickets go on sale November 7 at 10 a.m. through Evenko. Given the band’s enduring pull and the nearly decade-long gap since their last Montreal appearance, this one’s likely to move fast.
