Review of Tempers & Lesser Evil who performed at Bar Le Ritz on March 13th, 2022

Lesser Evil
Ariane M. & Christophe Lamarche-Ledoux pulled a Heisenberg, but instead of producing illegal substances in an RV, they created their own potent mix of music.
Their first EP was released in 2018 and their LP will be released in the fall.
The heavy beat filled Bar Le Ritz with their genre bending style of music.
Combining multiple synths with a guitar bass, strummed in a unique way, as well as saxophone, Lesser Evilgot the party started.
By their last song, the crowd were feeling the energy.
Tempers

Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper of New York’s Tempers just released their New Meaning LP.
The pair took us through their repertoire of new and old songs, on a sparse stage with their own custom lighting gear.
It wasn’t long till Bar Le Ritz was transformed into a dance club, as it was impossible to stand still during their set.
Their new songs have that same signature mixture of danceability with atmospheric moodiness. Imagine the Eurythmics/Depeche Mode doing Dark Wave.
Jasmine, with the mic chords wrapped around her hands has this ability to give you chills as she howls “to be” on Unfamiliar, or “mothering, keeping well, shattering” on In And Out Of Hand, from the batch of new songs.

Jasmine also belted out fan favourites like Capital Pains & Strange Harvest while Eddie would add the atmospheric layers of the guitar.

The evening ended with the dance inducing Guidance, with no encore.
Within minutes, Jasmine and Eddie were at the merch booth, happy to engage with their fans, signing vinyl.
It was a night where we felt the communal urge to dance and let the music flow through us, as Tempers provided a visual and auditory experience.
