A Night of Unity, Peace, and Music
Sunday night’s Saint Levant show at MTelus in Montreal was nothing short of magical—a beautiful celebration of culture, identity, and the power of music to unite.

It started with a powerful performance piece called On Mute performed by Palestinian artist Lina Makoul. A highly emotional song with the absence of lyrics, dedicated “to those whose pain can’t be seen, felt, or expressed.” It was moving, beautiful, and that was the start of a fantastic set full of emotion and unity. A great primer for what we witnessed next.

From the moment Saint Levant stepped on stage, the connection between the artist and the audience was palpable. He started his set with the lead song from his album DEIRA, On This Land, followed by Comme C’est Beau—a strong start for the Palestinian rapper.
He was super charming, had a great smile, and a fantastic band behind him. Every song hit a chord: his lyrics, the music, the dancing—you could feel the sense of togetherness, peace, and community that filled the air. There was a deep-rooted bond shared by the crowd, many of whom were Palestinian or had Palestinian roots.

It was beautiful to see. He would perform a total of 14 songs, including Let Her Go, From Gaza with Love (with a guest appearance by Lina), and closed out the show with DEIRA.
My favourite moments were his performance of Nails—that song just slaps—the dancing team behind him with their dances and waving of flags, and finally, the reggae moment with his bassist. Just fantastic.
A mesmerising performance, Saint Levant’s Montreal show was more than just a performance—it was a powerful, peaceful gathering of Palestinians and their allies, united through music and hope, making it a night to remember for everyone lucky enough to be there.
