Australian indie-pop collective Parcels has returned with “Safeandsound,” their first release of 2025, accompanied by the announcement of a comprehensive North American tour this fall.
The band’s latest track, described by guitarist Jules Crommelin as inspired by a podcast on “embracing the unknowable of everyday,” arrives alongside a live performance video. Recorded at Golden Retriever Studios in Sydney with all five members playing together in a single room, the song reflects Crommelin’s recent relocation and newfound contentment.
“I’d just moved to Sydney, and was feeling really happy in my backyard with its little veggie garden and the planes flying by, which is mentioned in the first verse,” Crommelin explains. “All the group vocals were sung together around a mic.”

The track precedes what appears to be a substantial year for Parcels, including appearances at major venues across North America. Montreal fans should note the October 22 date at Place Bell, marking one of two Canadian stops on a tour that begins October 13 in Berkeley, California.
Other notable venues include two nights at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre and a performance at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium. Tickets become available this Friday.
Parcels’ last release was 2023’s “Leaveyourlove” EP, featuring collaborations with artists including King Stingray, Ximena Sariñana, and Robert Owens. The band—comprising keyboardist Louie Swain, keyboardist/guitarist Patrick Hetherington, bassist Noah Hill, drummer Anatole “Toto” Serret, and guitarist Jules Crommelin—has accumulated over one billion streams since their self-titled 2018 debut.
According to Hetherington, the band’s creative process remains deeply personal. “It’s very internal for all of us, so personal and so deep, which is sometimes quite uncomfortable,” he notes. “But that’s what Parcels is—all of us having that individual journey, then trying to make a space so we can funnel everybody’s experiences into the same world.”
The band’s announcement also confirms a new album is expected this fall, coinciding with their North American tour dates.
