M for Montréal is back for its 19th edition, set to take place from November 20 to 23, offering a mix of live showcases and industry events. As one of Canada’s leading music conferences, the event will spotlight 28 Canadian artists from various genres, including indie-pop, alternative rock, rap, and folk. With performances carefully selected for their originality and international potential, the conference is known for giving emerging artists a chance to break into the global scene.
This year’s event sees the return of the PRO section, which is now presented in collaboration with Billboard Canada. The PRO section is a key part of the conference, facilitating networking opportunities and helping industry professionals discover new talent. Over 500 delegates from across Canada and abroad are expected to attend, providing artists with the opportunity to gain exposure beyond the borders of Québec.
Artists like Charlotte Cardin, Mac DeMarco, and Grimes have previously performed at M for Montréal before breaking into international fame, and this year’s lineup promises to deliver similar talent.
This year’s music scene is poised to captivate audiences with a rich array of Francophone and Anglophone talent.
This year’s francophone lineup promises some standout performances. Alix Fernz, DVTR, and Population II will bring an energetic blend of alternative punk and psychedelic rock, while Velours Velours and Grand Eugène will offer a more laid-back atmosphere with their folk and indie-pop sounds. Naomi’s smooth RnB pop and Ya Cediton’s Afrobeat and dancehall influences will infuse the lineup with vibrant, rhythmic energy.
Capping off the program, Soleil Launière will deliver a unique blend of French, English, and Innu-aimun in an immersive post-rock performance, adding a deeply atmospheric experience for fans of French-language music.
On the anglophone side, Montreal presents an equally diverse selection. Artists like KROY, Claudia Bouvette, Fleece, and Goodbye Karelle will explore a mix of hypnotic electro, nostalgic indie pop, and eclectic rock. Jane Penny’s synth-pop, ALIAS’s dance-punk, and Lubalin’s drum & bass-infused pop will bring high-energy rhythms, perfect for those seeking a more dance-driven experience.
Unessential Oils, the solo venture of Plants and Animals’ frontman, will showcase his expansive musical vision, while Shaina Hayes adds a touch of country folk to the lineup with her nuanced sound.
Nationally, the lineup showcases talent from across the country. Saskatchewan’s Katie Tupper and Grimelda will represent the province, while Ontario’s Charlie Houston, Housewife, and myst milano add a dynamic mix of pop and alternative. Manitoba’s presence will be strong with Begonia and Living Hour, while Alberta’s Wyatt C. Louis and Astral Swans contribute a rootsy, indie vibe. British Columbia rounds out the list with the duo Vox Rea and singer-songwriter Nikkaela.

One key event is the return of SuperVISION, which will bring together music supervisors from film, TV, advertising, and video games to discuss industry trends. A series of panels will also address topics such as the role of data in musical discovery and the importance of accessibility in live music.
