Guidestones Keeps Me Up Album Release Gig Nov 3, 2021

Guidestones released a 90s FM Rock sounding album that is getting quite a few plays on my Spotify stream.

Having attended their very last gig before the Pandemic with Les Shirley, it was a special treat to see their first gig since then.

From the opening drums of Ground Control, I could already see how 2 years of Pandemic practice is paying off.

They were tight and at the top of their game, playing selections off the new album for two sold-out performances.

The Guidestones is comprised of twin brothers Ryan (vocals/guitar) & Zander Boudreau (drums), Gabrielle La Rue (vocals/guitar) and Dizzy Velvet (bass).

Next was Tear It Up which begs the audience to sing along. The loudest were Les Shirley, supporting their friends.

The atmospheric Keeps Me Up & Hang Tight really nailed down that 90s feel.

Please Me & So Sick followed by Ways Of Old, left us all wanting more.

An intimate yet powerful set, surrounded by friends as Guidestones found their sound, and bubbled up the nostalgia. The band chemistry would put them on the path to a PHD.

With some fresh new songs in their back pocket, and that joie-de-vive attitude on stage, I see big things in their future.
