DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT Announce Foufs Show

For the first time in nearly a decade, Dragged Into Sunlight is returning to North America. The UK-based extreme metal collective, known for their unrelenting sound and shrouded identity, will embark on a tour spanning the U.S. and Canada from May 24 to June 14.

The tour begins with an appearance at Maryland Deathfest and will see the band making stops in cities including Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and Montreal. They will be joined by support acts Mizmor and Meth, two acts known for pushing sonic boundaries in their own right.

This marks Dragged Into Sunlight’s first North American run since 2016, a tour that cemented their reputation for intense, ritualistic performances. Their blend of blackened death metal, doom, and harsh noise has cultivated a cult following over the years, with fans drawn not only to their sound but to the mystery that surrounds them. The band operates with a strict ethos of anonymity, performing in near-total darkness with their backs to the audience, an aesthetic choice that enhances the suffocating intensity of their live shows.

Since forming in 2006, Dragged Into Sunlight has remained an elusive force in extreme music. Their debut full-length, Hatred for Mankind (2009), delivered a nihilistic vision of sound, followed by Widowmaker (2012), a three-part composition that defied genre constraints. Their collaborative effort with Gnaw Their Tongues, NV (2015), further expanded their sonic scope, pushing the boundaries of noise, industrial, and blackened sludge.

Their upcoming tour will offer rare opportunities to witness their punishing sound in a live setting. Highlights include their return to Foufounes Électriques in Montreal on June 10 and Lee’s Palace in Toronto on June 9, both venues known for hosting some of the most abrasive acts in heavy music.

For those eager to experience one of the most enigmatic and sonically oppressive live acts in contemporary metal, this tour represents a rare chance.
