After a four-year hiatus, Béatrice Martin, known to fans as Cœur de pirate, is poised to release her seventh studio album this fall. The Montreal-born singer-songwriter also unveiled plans for an extensive tour, marking a return to the stage that will reconnect her with audiences across Quebec, Canada, and Europe.
The upcoming tour will commence at MTelus in Montreal on November 6—her first performance in the province since the summer of 2023—and extend to other Canadian cities. Following the Canadian leg, Martin will embark on a European journey, with scheduled performances in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands. These concerts will feature a refreshed trio arrangement, showcasing the entirety of her new album set for release in September. The performances promise a dynamic range, from gentle piano melodies to more vigorous compositions, highlighting Martin’s versatility as both a pianist and a performer. Her distinctive style, characterized by a blend of melancholy and vibrancy, aims to evoke deep emotions while inviting audiences to celebrate.
Since her debut in 2008, Cœur de pirate has experienced a remarkable rise in the Francophone pop music scene. Her intimate vocals, poignant lyrics, and meticulously crafted compositions have earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. Throughout her career, she has garnered multiple awards, including eight Félix Awards, a Juno Award, and three Victoires de la Musique. Martin now divides her time between Europe and Quebec, serving as an ambassador for Maison Perrier and making a notable appearance on the French television show “Danse avec les stars.” Additionally, she holds the positions of president and artistic director at the Montreal-based label and agency Bravo Musique, the very label that launched her career. In this role, she is committed to mentoring and promoting emerging artists.
