Arch Enemy have ended months of speculation, announcing that Lauren Hart, formerly of Once Human, is the band’s new vocalist. The Swedish metal outfit revealed Hart alongside the release of new single To The Last Breath on February 19, marking the first new music from the band following the departure of longtime frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz.
To The Last Breath arrives with an official music video and represents the first recorded output from the Hart-era lineup. Guitarist and founder Michael Amott described working with Hart as “an exceptional experience,” citing her voice, dedication, and professionalism as key factors in the decision. “Connecting with Lauren has marked an important step in my journey,” Amott said in a statement.

Amott was direct about the song’s intent. “Make no mistake, this song is a reckoning. Musically, it’s unapologetically aligned with my original vision for the band,” he said, adding that the track deals thematically with deception and control. “It captures that moment when you realize you’ve been fed poison, and you choose to fight back.”
The announcement comes alongside a run of European club dates booked for the summer under the title “Back To The Root Of All Evil.” The shows, scheduled from late July through mid-August, keep the band in intimate venues: Berlin’s Bi Nuu, Stockholm’s Kollektivet Livet, London’s The Underworld, and Paris’ La Maroquinerie among the stops. The tour wraps August 11 in Manchester.
Arch Enemy have been a fixture of the melodic death metal world since the mid-1990s, and the Hart lineup will face its first live test on that run, playing rooms considerably smaller than the festival stages and arenas the band has occupied in recent years.
