French electronic duo Air has announced the North American leg of their anniversary tour celebrating their iconic 1998 album, Moon Safari. Following a series of successful shows across Europe, the duo is set to bring their mesmerizing sound to fans in Canada and the United States this fall. The tour includes a date at Place Bell in Laval on October 13.
Tickets go on sale March 8 at 10 a.m. local time, with presale available on March 7 at 10 a.m. local time.
While Air hasn’t released new material in over a decade, their musical legacy remains firmly intact. Their last album, Le voyage dans la lune, served as a soundtrack for the restored version of Georges Méliès’ legendary silent film. In 2016, they delighted fans with Twentyyears, a compilation LP featuring two previously unreleased tracks, “Roger Song” and “Adis Abebah.”
Nicolas Godin, one half of Air, recently shared his musical tastes in a list of “33 Musicians on Their Favorite Albums of the Last 25 Years,” offering insight into the duo’s influences and artistic journey.
The North American tour promises to be a nostalgic journey for fans, as Air performs their beloved tracks from Moon Safari, including hits like “Sexy Boy,” “Kelly Watch the Stars,” and “All I Need.” Known for their ethereal soundscapes and dreamy melodies, Air’s live performances are expected to captivate audiences with their signature blend of electronic and ambient music.
While the duo’s tour is a celebration of past successes, it also serves as a reminder of their enduring influence on contemporary music. With their innovative approach to electronic music and their ability to transcend genre boundaries, Air continues to inspire a new generation of artists and listeners alike.
