Montreal technical death metal band Volubilis are giving listeners an early, full-album stream of their debut LP Theasterion.
The band has teamed up with Decibel Magazine to premiere the record ahead of its official release on July 10, 2026.

Volubilis began in 2020 as a solo project from Miguel Marcheterre-Pina, and has since expanded into a full lineup with André Dubien (vocals), Jacob Collins (drums), Alexis Rioux (guitar), and Shawn Hillman (fretless bass). Theasterion is presented as a six-track sci-fi concept album built for a straight-through listen, with chapters that follow a story set against political upheaval, alien terrain, and an approaching supernova.
The band say the album is part of a wider creative world, with Marcheterre-Pina also developing a related comic project during an upcoming residency at Casa na Ilha in Brazil.
