Australian folk-rock group The Paper Kites will return to North America next spring for a headline tour in support of their upcoming album, If You Go There, I Hope You Find It. The run begins May 1 in Austin and includes stops in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Boston. Canadian fans will have two chances to see the band, with dates confirmed for Montreal’s MTelus on May 10 and Toronto’s History on May 12.

The announcement follows news of the band’s seventh studio album, set for release on January 23, 2026, through Nettwerk Music Group. Recorded at Melbourne’s Sing Sing Studios and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Jon Low, the record features recent singles “When the Lavender Blooms” and “Every Town.” The band has described the album as a reflection on connection and healing, anchored in the atmospheric sound that has defined their career.
Formed in Melbourne in 2010, The Paper Kites built a global following through understated songwriting and intricate harmonies. Their breakout single “Bloom” became a multi-Platinum success in several countries and has since been streamed hundreds of millions of times. The track has also been covered by artists including Kelly Clarkson, who performed it on her daytime television show. Over the past decade, the band’s music has appeared in series such as Grey’s Anatomy and This Is Us, further broadening their reach.
The group’s popularity has grown steadily, with over two billion streams worldwide and a strong presence on social platforms. Despite the numbers, The Paper Kites have largely avoided the trappings of mainstream pop, continuing to focus on slow-burning albums and carefully paced tours. Their influence has been cited by newer voices in folk and indie pop, including Lizzy McAlpine and Zach Bryan.
Tickets for the 2026 North American tour go on sale October 3 at 10 a.m. local time, with presales beginning October 1.
