RAYE brought her THIS TOUR MAY CONTAIN NEW MUSIC run to a sold-out Place Bell in Laval on April 12, playing her largest Montreal-area headline show to date.
Backed by a full band with brass and strings, she moved between jazz, soul, and pop, mixing newer material with earlier songs and a jazz-leaning take on Fly Me to the Moon. The set stretched close to two hours, with quieter moments giving way to fuller, more arranged sections that leaned on the live musicians around her.
She stayed in close contact with the crowd throughout, speaking between songs, picking out fans in the front rows, and reacting in real time. The tone shifted as the set went on, from more stripped-back performances early to a looser, more celebratory finish, with the audience carrying large parts of the final songs.
