After a three-year hiatus, British indie rock outfit Wolf Alice have emerged with “Bloom Baby Bloom,” the lead single from their forthcoming fourth album The Clearing, set for release on August 29th via Sony Music.
Recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-winning producer Greg Kurstin, The Clearing represents the band’s first output since 2022’s Blue Weekend, which topped the UK charts and earned them a Brit Award for Best Group.
“I wanted a rock song, to focus on the performance element of a rock song and sing like Axl Rose, but to be singing a song about being a woman,” vocalist Ellie Rowsell explained about the new single. “I’ve used the guitar as a shield in the past… but I wanted to focus on my voice as a rock instrument so it’s been freeing to put the guitar down.”

The quartet, comprising Rowsell alongside Joff Oddie, Theo Ellis, and Joel Amey, have announced a substantial 43-date tour spanning North America, Europe, and the UK between September and December 2025. The tour includes two Canadian stops, with the band playing Toronto’s History venue on September 23rd after a performance at Montreal’s Beanfield Theatre on September 22nd.
Since their 2013 emergence from North London, Wolf Alice have established themselves as significant voices in alternative rock, collecting accolades including a Mercury Music Prize for 2018’s Visions of a Life. Their debut, My Love Is Cool, featured the Grammy-nominated track “Moaning Lisa Smile.”
Before embarking on their headline tour, the band will appear at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool and Glastonbury Festival this summer. The North American leg begins in Atlanta on September 10th before concluding in Los Angeles on October 13th.

The Clearing is described as a collection that draws inspiration from 1970s rock while remaining contemporary, showcasing what the band characterizes as “more authoritative melodies than they have ever crafted before.”
Tickets for the Montreal and Toronto shows go on sale next week.
