Brooklyn-based band Crumb is set to bring their ethereal soundscapes to Montreal’s Théâtre Beanfield on Sunday September 1st, accompanied by L’Rain and Discovery Zone. The show comes just a few months after the release of their latest album, AMAMA, which dropped on May 17th.
Crumb, a project that began as a casual collaboration among friends, has evolved into a significant presence on the indie music scene. The band is made up of Lila Ramani (guitar, vocals), Brian Aronow (synth, keys, sax), Jesse Brotter (bass), and Jonathan Gilad (drums). They initially came together in 2016 to flesh out songs Ramani had written during her high school and college years. The result was their first two EPs, Crumb (2016) and Locket (2017). These early releases quickly gained traction online and led to the band transitioning from a side project to a full-time commitment.
The band’s latest album, AMAMA, continues their exploration of psychedelic jazz and dream-pop influences. Fans can expect the same lush, textural sound that Crumb is known for, with the added depth and maturity that comes from years of growth and collaboration.
L’Rain, known for her experimental blend of R&B, ambient music, and free jazz, and Discovery Zone, with her eclectic mix of electronic pop, will set the stage for what promises to be an evening of genre-defying performances.
