The Heavyweight Jam is a music\multimedia project from Montreal based on the “right here and now” philosophy of liberty of creation and expression, founded by Producer Momo from The Momo Zone and guitarist\singer Ricky Laurent.
After many years dedicated to perfecting the branding and image of many well known artists, personalities and companies (Jonas, Sonia Benezra, Bijoux Caroline Néron, Cavalia, Mahée Paiement Parfum…), these innovative and versatile artists are now entirely dedicated to their multi-platform undertaking.
Following a year of musical exploration, the band’s songwriting blossomed into a format integrating many of their folk, pop, jazz and rock influences. Dedicated to keeping a level of raw emotion, the eccentric group chose to break out of traditional practices cutting the tracks in the same room as the recording gear, in an intimate atmosphere perfumed with fragrant incense.
For the release of their first album, scheduled for October 2014, a traditional commercial release was out of the question for the band. In that spirit, their first release I Still Believe is a triptych (in the styles of rock, pop and jazz), for which the band self-produced 3 music videos and a lyric video.
