
CBC and the Polaris Music Prize have revealed the 10-album short list for the 2026 Polaris Music Prize, with the winner set to be announced at the Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony at Massey Hall in Toronto on Tuesday, September 22.
The 2026 Polaris Album Short List is:
- Angine de Poitrine – Vol. II
- Aquakultre – 1783
- Begonia – Fantasy Life
- Bibi Club – Amaro
- Charlotte Cornfield – Hurts Like Hell
- Beverly Glenn-Copeland – Laughter In Summer
- Rochelle Jordan – Through The Wall
- Les Louanges – Alouette!
- Peaches – No Lube So Rude
- Tanya Tagaq – Saputjiji

Polaris also confirmed a lineup of performers for the September 22 ceremony (subject to change), including Aquakultre, Begonia, Bibi Club, Charlotte Cornfield, Beverly Glenn-Copeland & Elizabeth Copeland, Les Louanges, and Tanya Tagaq, plus an interpretation of Peaches’ “No Lube So Rude” involving Slash Need. CBC Music’s Odario Williams will host the event.
The Polaris Music Prize awards $30,000 (courtesy of the Slaight Family Foundation) to the Canadian album judged solely on artistic merit, without regard for genre or sales. The winner will be determined after final jury voting following grand jury presentations and debate.
CBC Music is also launching its annual “Short List Summer” coverage, including THE TEN, a weekly one-hour radio special hosted by Odario Williams. Episodes begin Sunday, July 19, and run through Sunday, September 13 on CBC Music and CBC Listen.
