British indie outfit Wet Leg have confirmed the release of their sophomore album, moisturizer, due out July 11 via Domino. The news arrives alongside a new single, “catch these fists,” which will see its live television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this Wednesday.
The band—co-founded by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers on the Isle of Wight—returns three years after their self-titled debut garnered widespread acclaim, landing a UK No.1, three Grammy Awards, two BRITs, and over 500 million streams globally. Rather than lean further into the commercial polish such accolades often encourage, Wet Leg have instead opted to double down on their distinctive blend of sardonic lyrics and post-punk energy.
“catch these fists,” the lead single from moisturizer, is a snarling, bass-heavy cut underscored by biting wit and a propulsive groove. The accompanying video, shot on the Isle of Wight and co-directed by the band, draws visual cues from horror auteurs and early-2000s indie cinema, nodding to both Ti West and Cameron Crowe. It also revisits some of the aesthetic territory of their viral “Wet Dream” clip.

Recording sessions for the new record took place in March 2024 in Southwold, a remote seaside town in England. There, the band—now a five-piece including Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar/synth)—lived and worked together while reuniting with producer Dan Carey. All five members are credited as co-writers on the album. In a press statement, Chambers noted the collaborative process “just felt natural,” while Teasdale emphasized that they “focused on what would be fun to play live.”
Thematically, moisturizer spans messy infatuations, interpersonal tension, and moments of blissful absurdity. Tracks like “mangetout” and “pond song” tease a chaotic, emotionally tangled landscape, far removed from the cynicism often ascribed to the band’s debut. If the album artwork—a surreal image featuring Teasdale and Chambers clad in oversized claws and cartoonish styling—is any indication, moisturizer aims to be as visually provocative as it is sonically assured.
Wet Leg will support the release with an extensive international tour, including summer festival appearances at Glastonbury, Roskilde, and Primavera Sound.
