Trois-Rivières MetalFest has announced the lineup for its 17th edition, set to take place on November 22nd and 23rd, 2024, at the Amphitheatre Cogeco in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. Located between Montreal and Quebec City, the festival has become a significant gathering for fans of extreme metal in the province.
This year’s headliners include New York death metal icons Immolation and Boston’s metalcore mainstays Unearth. Joining them are Montreal’s technical death metal outfit Beyond Creation and France’s progressive metal band Gorod, alongside local veterans like Ghoulunatics and Augury. The event, known for its intense atmosphere, will also feature rising Quebec acts such as Reanimator, Strigampire, and Backstabber on Friday, followed by Necrotic Mutation, Fracturus, and Zero State on Saturday.
The festival kicks off with a pre-show on November 21st at L’Entité, with performances from Quebec-based bands Feels Like Home, Hopeless Nation, Polygraph, and Chained by Illness. This smaller, more intimate venue offers a chance for fans to get into the spirit before the main event.
Trois-Rivières MetalFest, first launched in 2001, has a long history of bringing heavy hitters from the metal scene to Quebec. Over the years, the festival has hosted acts like Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, and Voivod. Despite its small-town origins, the fest has earned a reputation as a go-to for metalheads across the province, drawing international and local talent alike.
Tickets for the three-day event, including the pre-show, are available through the Amphitheatre Cogeco’s website.
