Thomas Rhett @ Bell Centre

I was finally back at the Bell Centre to cover a show, my first of 2023. Coincidentally my last show of 2023 was at the Bell Centre to photograph another country star by the name of Kane Brown who will return this summer at Lasso.  Friday night  I had the privilege to photograph another huge country star by the name of Thomas Rhett.

To say I was excited for this show is an understatement, my first time pulling out the good old camera for a gig felt good.  Unfortunately, due to the nature of the business I wasn’t able to make the first two acts as we had not been given clearance to photograph them. I spoke to many in attendance and they all agreed that Cameron Marlowe and Jordan Davis kicked ass, sad I missed them.

When Thomas hit the stage, we immediately knew we were in for a special kinda night.  The Bring the Bar tour to you started off with a bang as he played Craving You, Look What God Gave Her and Half of Me.  I was blown away by the charisma this man has, he has a smile that will draw anyone in.  He took time while performing to shake hands, take selfies, and he made eye contact with everyone in the building.  I swear he made everyone in the packed Bell Centre feel like they were at their local bar. He was the master of the room and we were digging every minute of it.  This certainly hit while he performed Angels, a beautiful ballad about his wife, he told us how much he loves her and it was super sweet.

One of my favourite moments of the night is when he went over to the B stage on the opposite side of the rink joined by two of his bandmates and both openers Cameron and Jordan.  They all took turns in a campfire sing-along.  It was beautiful, and I can confirm that both guys have wonderful voices and should definitely be on your radar.

So many great moments, everyone should see Thomas at least once; he was definitely feeling our vibe as he remembered his first time in Montreal and seeing us tonight to claim we were the most incredible crowd in the universe!  I couldn’t agree more, this night was spectacular, and my favourite song of the night was T-Shirt. Love that Montreal is getting more and more country acts, with this kind of reaction I think it’s safe to say we will see more soon!
