The Weather Station Announces Introspective Album and Montreal Show

Toronto-based musician Tamara Lindeman, who records as The Weather Station, is set to release her most sonically adventurous album to date, “Humanhood,” on January 17 via Next Door Records, accompanied by an extensive North American tour that will include a date at Montreal’s Beanfield Theatre on March 27, 2025. Tickets go on sale November 22.

The album’s latest single, “Window,” offers a glimpse into Lindeman’s intricate musical landscape. Described by the artist as “an anthem of escape,” the track weaves slashing guitar lines with spiralling electronics, creating a visceral soundscape that captures moments of psychological tension.

The accompanying video for “Window,” directed by Philippe Léonard, was filmed on Quebec’s Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs island, using a battery-powered projector to create a dreamlike visual narrative that complements the song’s ethereal quality.

Recorded in Toronto during late 2023, the album features a collaborative ensemble including drummer Kieran Adams, bassist Ben Whiteley, and guest musicians like Sam Amidon and James Elkington. The recording process itself seems to mirror the album’s thematic exploration of human vulnerability and connection.

Lindeman says she felt “an urgency to shine some light on this word, this idea of humanness.” The title “Humanhood” references a rarely used term describing the fundamental condition of being human—a meditation particularly resonant in our increasingly digitized world.
