Some of the bands from our youth are now touring, and it can be hard to watch, or listen as they are clearly only there for the nostalgia, not the youthful energy that a rock show deserves. Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses recently sounded like Mickey Mouse singing, and the legendary AC/DC slowly pacing across the stage was almost cringe.
Considering For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) was my first vinyl purchase, I do have a soft spot for AC/DC.
The baton has been passed to The Lazys, a band that will have you excited for that AC/DC energy! While not a copycat band, they do share a no-frills Australian rock tradition, with contemporary themes.
Listen to Hot Under The Collar, a song about workplace attraction, and experience the riff-heavy, raw energy and focus on the classic hard hitting rock experience.
The band used Kickstarter to help release two singles. They will tour Ontario, the UK and Europe this summer.
