Sweden’s Satanic Surfers were in town to play Les Foufounes Électriques once again, and as always, they were great. Ever since they first came here, they’ve had a special relationship with the show promoter, and they’ve remained friends ever since.
The last time they were here, it was to play their fan favourite album, Hero Of Our Time, in its entirety, and this time, they again played a whole bunch of songs off of that record, to the pleasure of the crowd who spent most of their set crowd surfing and dancing the night away.
The band’s crowd interactions are always fun, and the jokes are always funny, but that’s the best part about the whole thing. Half the set was songs from Hero Of Our Time, and considering that the album only has thirteen songs to begin with, that’s pretty cool.
By the time the night was down, it was obvious that Montreal still loves the Satanic Surfers and they love playing here after all these years.
