Sabaton have postponed their 31-date North American tour, originally scheduled to begin in February 2026, after bassist Pär Sundström was advised to rest due to inflammation in his arms. The Swedish power metal band announced the postponement via social media, confirming they are working to reschedule the tour that was set to run through April, including an April 9 date at Place Bell in Laval.
Tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates, and fans will receive email notifications from their point of sale once new dates are confirmed.
Sundström’s condition requires medical rest for proper recovery, forcing the band to delay the tour rather than push through the scheduled dates. The band’s statement emphasized that health had to take priority, though they expressed regret over the timing. “Performing on stage means everything to us, but health must come first,” the announcement read. The tour was one of Sabaton’s major 2026 plans for the North American market, where the band has built a dedicated following over multiple tours.

The postponement affects only the North American leg. Sabaton’s European summer festival dates remain on schedule and are not impacted by Sundström’s recovery timeline. The band did not provide a specific window for when the rescheduled North American dates might be announced, only stating they are “working hard to secure new dates.” Fans holding tickets have been advised to keep them rather than seek refunds, as the shows are being moved, not cancelled outright.
Sabaton’s current lineup includes Sundström alongside vocalist Joakim Brodén, guitarists Chris Rörland and Tommy Johansson, and drummer Hannes van Dahl. The band has maintained a rigorous touring schedule in recent years, regularly playing large-scale productions that combine historical themes with metal theatrics. The North American tour was expected to follow that format, making the postponement a significant shift in their 2026 calendar.
