MURAL Festival has announced the headliners for the Block Parties of its 12th edition, to be held in Montreal from June 6 to 16! The MURAL Block Parties that have become synonymous with the Festival and that have previously been held in the parking lot on Boulevard Saint-Laurent are moving to the Bassin Peel this year.

With the iconic Farine Five Roses sign as a background, this new stage, with increased capacity, will host all the Festival’s ticketed musical events this year. This brand new site, with spectacular urban art by artist LACROIX, promises unique performances to the frenzied sounds of hip-hop, electronic music and the legendary atmosphere of the MURAL Block Parties.

Discover the 6 main Block Parties of the 2024 MURAL Festival to be set up on the Bassin Peel stage:

After turning dancefloors around the world upside down, Moonshine (Pierre Kwenders, San Farafina and Akantu) are celebrating their 10th anniversary with a major comeback at the MURAL Festival, featuring two huge Block Parties. The first promises a mesmerizing mix of the unique Afrobeat and Afrohouse that made the collective famous, with Tekno, C.Firm, Afrotonik, Pony, Talia Goddess and Kizaba.

For its second Block Party, Moonshine is offering a more electronic version, with headliners Aluna, Sango, Pony, Amaal Nuux and Vanyfox.

Friday June 14 – Channel Tres, Major League Djz & more

This evening is all about discovery with the unique music of Channel Tres, who blend the dynamism of Detroit techno and the grooves of Chicago house with the snarls of West Coast rap. Just before, Major League Djz, a duo of twins from South Africa, will introduce festival-goers to Amapiano in all its glory. To open the Block Party, SadBoi, Ouri in DJ set mode, and Hua Li 化力 will set the mood for the party.

Saturday June 15 – Rick Ross with guest artists – Saintwoods Block Party

Miami rap legend Rick Ross, aka ‘The Boss’, will be taking over the Bassin Peel Stage to headline a wild Block Party. The creative direction of the show is handled by our friends from day one, the Saintwoods crew. They have cooked up a unique line-up of hip-hop artists and Montreal DJs to accompany ‘Rozay’.

Sunday June 16 – House Day

The day party of the summer is MURAL Festival’s House Day! Festival-goers can sunbathe, dance and chill out to the sounds of &friends, the musical project of New York-based Sean Thomas. Just before, RAFFA GUIDO will be offering a unique blend of Afro and Latin deep house influences. They will be joined by representatives of the Montreal electro scene, Forrest, Lilya Mandre, Del Arte and their guests.

“The tradition of MURAL Block Parties, so popular with our visitors, will continue despite all the various challenges. We’re delighted to be exploring an incredible new site this year, right in the heart of the South West. With such extraordinary musical artists, we can guarantee an unforgettable party,” says Pierre-Alain Benoît, general manager of MURAL Festival.
