Osheaga 2022 Friday Planning Guide

Osheaga is an opportunity to catch some of your favourite bands, but it can also be a great way to experience new music and different styles.

If you are like me, you will have comfortable walking shoes, while being stylish of course, and will have some sort of outline as to where to be to experience a custom Osheaga Experience.

I will focus on the stages other than Island Stage, because if you are into EDM…that’s your spot and you will soak that in all day and night long.

Friday

The Bell River Stage (2:00 PM) will have Crawlers from Liverpool who have been selling out shows in the UK with their Alt-Rock style.

Competing for your attention will be Group Project an Indie Pop band from Montreal on the Green Stage (2:00 PM)

If RnB is more your thing, Brandon Harris will be at the Tree Stage (2:10 PM)

Gus Dapperton from Warwick New York will be on the Mountain Stage (2:40) with some Alt-Indie sounds.

If you are more into Francophone Hip-Hop, head over to the Valley Stage (2;40 PM) to catch Fredz.

Lolo Zouaï from San Francisco does R&B, Trap and Pop. Green Stage (3:20).

Robert Robert will be on the Tree Stage (3:20 PM) who had help from Hubert Lenoir. French Electronic/Dance.

Unless you have lived under a rock, Tones and I and their hit Dance Monkey have hit your ears at one point. If you want to have them hit your eyes, they will be on the River Stage (3:25 PM).

PinkPantheress (Pop) from the UK will on the Valley Stage at 4:00 PM. Having a duet with Willow will surely make this a popular one to see.

Ashe (Indie Pop) will hit the Mountain Stage at 4:15 PM. Having a connection to Finneas will surely help make this an interesting one to catch.

Having seen King Hannah at L’Escogriffe (Read the review), this one is on my DO NOT MISS performances. Yes…I want a full encore.

Straight from Liverpool…King Hannah has this Mazzy Star/Portishead vibe, but way cooler. Tree Stage (4:40 PM)

Jacob Banks (Birmingham, UK) brings some R&B/Hip Hop to the Green Stage (4:45 PM)

Dominic Fike will most likely draw a crowd with some Alternative Hip-Hop, on the softer side. Having a song on Euphoria will no doubt help. River Stage (5:05 PM)

Local Natives will hit the Valley Stage at 5:30 PM. You might have heard them on The Shrink Next Door, or with Sharon Van Etten. Alternative Indie is their flavour.

The Kid LAROI will be on the Mountain Stage at 5:55 PM which should get the crowd hopping with some Hip Hop vibes.

Ama Lou (London, UK) will be at the Tree Stage at 6:05 doing some R&B.

Maybe Hip-Hop is not your thing…head over to the Green Stage at 6:15 PM for Parcels for some Alternative Indie.

By 6:45, the River Stage will be dance party with Charli XCX.

If you prefer Melodic Punk/Alternative Rock, you might head over to Valley Stage (7:05 PM) for Turnstile from Maryland US.

Not to be missed is Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the Mountain Stage at 7:45 PM. Maps will be a highlight of the set, without a doubt.

Support your local artists with a visit to the Tree Stage at 7:45 PM when Les Louanges will perform some Francophone Indie Pop.

Lil Tjay will bring more Hip Hop/Trap/R&B to the Green Stage at 7:55 PM.

More Hip-Hop with Big Sean who will get the Valley Stage dancing at 8:45 PM.

On my Osheaga bucket list will be Arcade Fire on the River Stage (8:55 PM). Their new album is a return to the roots of the band we love to call our own.

Kygo will get bring some EDM to the Green Stage at 9:45 PM if that is more your thing.

At 9:50 PM, you could Hip Hop over to the Tree Stage for Pi’erre Bourne.

Osheaga Bucket List

My picks for Friday will be: Crawlers, Ashe until King Hannah, Turnstile, Yeah Yeah Yeahs & Arcade Fire.
