Toyboys From Hell Tour 2024
On October 11, 2024, the Piranha Bar in Montreal hosted a plethora of surprises I absolutely did not expect. From music themed around WWE to Tragedy (a tribute to the Bee Gees), the night finished with a style of Italian comedy heavy metal.

The evening began with Wrestlemaniaks, a tribute to WWE. I have never laughed so hard in my life. The show started with the intro of The Undertaker. The band members were all dressed as WWE characters. They followed up with Mr. McMahon, then Sexy Boy, Shawn Michaels’ intro, and You Can’t See Me by John Cena. For WrestleMania fans, it was absolutely incredible. They ended their set with “Real American” by Hulk Hogan, and the guitarist showed off muscles worthy of Hulk. I enjoyed myself from start to finish. A great discovery!

Next, we had Tragedy, the tribute band to the Bee Gees. They started with “The Final Countdown,” played on the flute, totally offbeat. It was hilariously funny; I was doubled over with laughter. They followed with “Tragedy” and performed classics like “Sweet Caroline,” “It’s Raining Men,” and the iconic “Stayin’ Alive.” They wrapped up with “YMCA” and “Feel So Good.” All the band members were familiar faces—they were also the members of Nanowar of Steel.

Nanowar of Steel closed out the evening. They started their set with “Sober.” The atmosphere was electric. This Italian band, with their funky hair metal vibe, completely rocked it. “Il Cacciatore Della Notte” was next, a song entirely in Spanish. They then performed “Careless Whisper” to introduce a Wall of Love. Yes, you read that right: not a wall of death, but a wall of love! Instead of crashing into each other, we hugged. I thought that was an amazing idea! I laughed so much.

They then presented “Disco Metal” with perfect choreography. We also got a bit of reggaeton with “Norwegian Reggaeton,” which made you want to dance and talked about burning churches. I loved that song.
Nanowar also performed “Armpits of Immortals,” a song about the smell of armpits at a concert. They sang a song in French, “Brave Margot,” and had a little interlude to introduce “Uranus.” The band also mentioned that we should pray to Odin, so the whole crowd got down on their knees to pray. It was so funny! This led into “Valhalleluja.”

They finished with “El Baile Del Perrito.” During this song, they built an IKEA table and passed it through the crowd while bodysurfing. I found that absurd, but it was genius.
To conclude this review, I admit I didn’t understand anything that happened. It was complete chaos from start to finish, but I truly enjoyed my evening!
