Hailing from Créteil, France, pianist Simon Denizart moved to Montreal in 2011, quickly making a name for himself in the music scene.

He started his career collaborating with the Canadian label The 270 Sessions, releasing three notable albums: “Between Two Worlds” (2015), “Beautiful People” (2016), and “Darkside” (2017). His prolific output during this period garnered him the Radio-Canada Revelation award in 2016, along with two ADISQ nominations in 2017 and 2018.

In 2021, Denizart unveiled his fourth album, “NOMAD,” under the Laborie Jazz label. This album represents a vibrant and inventive fusion of piano and calabash, earning him another ADISQ nomination for Album of the Year in the Jazz category.

Denizart’s work has received widespread critical acclaim. Described by Radio-Canada as “a remarkable talent” and by FIP’s Jane Villenet as “a name to remember,” his performances have captivated audiences worldwide, including in France, Canada, the Czech Republic, and Cuba.

Jérôme Davieau of sors-tu.ca praised him as a unique pianist with a blend of jazz, rock, world, and neo-classical influences. Christophe Rodriguez of sortiesjazznights.ca noted his fluid, dynamic sound, likening him to the late Swedish pianist Esbjörn Svensson for his sensitive yet energizing music characterized by subtle, approachable melodies.

In 2023, Denizart embarked on a new venture with the esteemed Canadian label Justin Time Records, which is set to release his eagerly anticipated fifth album, “Piece of Mind.”
