Max McNown @ MTelus

Even with Shawn Mendes performing across town the same night, MTELUS was completely packed. It has been a long time since the venue felt this full, and Max McNown made the most of every moment on stage. From the first song to the last, his energy never faded.

Max’s voice carries warmth and truth. He does not rely on big theatrics, just real connection. He moved smoothly between heartfelt ballads and upbeat crowd favourites, each one landing with emotion. The audience was fully into it, singing along and cheering. Max called Montreal one of the best crowds he has ever had, and he kept saying it in the days that followed.

For those new to him, Max McNown is a rising country-folk artist from Oregon, now based in Nashville. His breakout single, “A Lot More Free,” brought him national attention, followed by his debut album Wandering in 2024 and Night Diving in early 2025. He has been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show and listed as one of 2025’s Artists to Watch.

In interviews, Max says his songs come from personal experiences — from heartbreak to healing and growing up. He is open about staying true to himself and has even turned down TV talent show offers to build his career on his own terms.

At MTELUS, that honesty came through in every note. You could feel the gratitude on both sides, the kind that only happens when the artist and the audience truly connect. Montreal gave Max an unforgettable night, and he gave one right back.
