This Saturday, a who’s-who of the Montreal music scene will gather at Le Ministère for LUZ, the fourth benefit concert presented by Les Productions MOND. Slated for June 7, the event unites over thirty artists in support of Le Phare, a palliative care centre that supports seriously ill children and their families.
Founded in March 2024 by music industry veterans Alexiane Montpetit and George Donoso, MOND (short for Mouvement Organisé Non Dénué de sens) operates at the intersection of arts and activism. Each of its showcases raises funds for community-based organisations, ranging from shelters to food banks to medical support initiatives. LUZ is the latest in their ongoing effort to turn local creativity into tangible care.
Headliners include singer-songwriter Mara Tremblay, indie folk mainstay Matt Holubowski, and the soulful Kandle, alongside a strong contingent of Montreal talent from across the genre map. The lineup also features Félix Dyotte, Brad Barr (of The Barr Brothers), and members of The Dears, SUUNS, The Besnard Lakes, and The Brooks. For longtime followers of the city’s music culture, it’s a rare opportunity to see such an eclectic mix sharing the same stage.

All proceeds from LUZ will go to Le Phare, Enfants et Familles, a Montreal-based organization that offers free services to families navigating the complexities of pediatric palliative care. The centre has served hundreds of families since its founding in 1999 and continues to be one of the few facilities of its kind in Canada.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with music starting at 8. Entry is open to all ages.
In a city known for its collaborative spirit, LUZ underscores what happens when musicians step up for more than the music. For Montpetit and Donoso, the goal is long-term: “to become a hub of solidarity and mutual support within the community,” as their mission statement reads. Saturday night looks like another step in that direction.
