Montreal-based duo Les Deuxluxes have released their latest EP, Pleasure Doin’ Business, coinciding with the launch of their independent label, Noble Shit Records. The four-track EP, now available on limited edition green vinyl and digital platforms, reflects the pair’s trademark fusion of garage rock, psychedelia, and punk-inspired energy while charting a course for the next stage of their creative journey.
Comprising Anna Frances Meyer and Étienne Barry, Les Deuxluxes have been mainstays of Montreal’s rock scene since their formation in 2014. Known for their electrifying live performances and eclectic sound, the band draws comparisons to icons such as PJ Harvey and The Stooges while retaining a distinct identity. This latest EP builds on their reputation for delivering visceral, no-frills rock ‘n’ roll, with tracks like Comin’ in Hot showcasing gritty guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and a raw intensity.
The EP includes a standout collaboration with fellow Montreal rockers Les Shirley on Always on the Run, reflecting the collaborative ethos that has defined much of Les Deuxluxes’ decade-long career. Notably, Pleasure Doin’ Business is the band’s first entirely self-produced work, a milestone made possible by the establishment of Noble Shit Records. The new label provides the duo with full creative control over their music and doubles as a platform to support other artists in Montreal’s vibrant music scene.
Fans can celebrate the release at two launch shows: November 22 at Le Pantoum in Quebec City, and November 28 at La Sala Rossa in Montreal. The latter promises a particularly unique performance, featuring Les Shirley as guest musicians in a collaborative “supergroup” format.
