Le Husky is releasing Forces invisibles, his first full-length album since La fuite in 2010, on March 20. The Montreal singer-songwriter’s return ends a sixteen-year gap between records, a stretch that included a detour into graphic design and web development before a gradual re-emergence through solo tracks and the folk collective Rougemont.
The album’s nine songs were produced by longtime collaborator Jean-Sébastien Brault-Labbé, who also handled drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, and piano. String and brass arrangements come courtesy of Jérôme Dupuis-Cloutier, Marie-Michèle Beauparlant, and Juliet Triquet, with mastering by Jean-Philippe Villemure. Three singles have already surfaced in recent months: J’ai tout foutu en l’air, Besoin de personne, and Le camp des éclopés.
Le Husky first appeared in 2006 during a fertile period for Montreal’s French-language independent scene, signing to Grosse Boîte and releasing Chanson moderne pour cyniques romantiques in 2007. The follow-up, La fuite, arrived in 2010, and a solo EP, Échec Éros, came out in 2016, but a full-length had not materialized in the years since.
