35,000 country music fans attended Lasso Montreal at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Aug. 12 and 13, according to organizers Evenko. 20% of whom travelled to the festival from outside Quebec.
The city’s new country music festival has also confirmed that the event will return in 2023, on Aug. 18 and 19.
Playing at the festival was Montreal’s Brittany Kennell, as well as other Canadian acts, including Sara Dufour, Tenille Townes and Five Roses. Headliners included Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan, whose festival-closing set on Sunday night was introduced by the Canadiens’ Nick Suzuki.
Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante congratulated the festival on their first edition, saying, ”We are very happy to welcome a new country festival to Montreal.”
