Montreal’s own Louis Kevin Celestin, better known as Kaytranada, has announced his latest full-length album Ain’t No Damn Way!, set for release this Friday, August 15, via RCA Records. The news arrived earlier today, August 11, with a post on Instagram accompanied by the line: “Oh lord, not a new album called AIN’T NO DAMN WAY! – coming out this Friday???”
The album’s lead single, “Space Invader,” will be released at midnight tonight, August 12. In his Instagram story, Kaytranada described the project as “strictly for workouts, dancing and studying and for my people that love beats.” The focus on groove-driven, instrumental production marks a deliberate return to his dance music roots.

Ain’t No Damn Way! is Kaytranada’s first studio album since Timeless, released on June 7, 2024. That record earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album and featured a wide range of collaborators, including Childish Gambino and PinkPantheress. While Timeless embraced a mix of vocal-led tracks, early descriptions suggest this new release leans heavily toward instrumental cuts designed for the dancefloor.
Kaytranada’s career began over a decade ago, when he started uploading remixes to SoundCloud from his home in Montreal. His 2013 remix of Janet Jackson’s “If” became a viral hit and helped put him on the global map. In 2016, he released his debut album 99.9%, which won the Polaris Music Prize and featured artists like Anderson .Paak, BADBADNOTGOOD and Little Dragon. His follow-up, BUBBA (2019), won two Grammy Awards, solidifying his place as one of the most influential producers in contemporary electronic music. Known for blending house, hip-hop, funk and R&B, Kaytranada has consistently pushed genre boundaries while maintaining a distinct and instantly recognisable sound.
The album release comes just ahead of a major North American arena co-headline tour with French electronic duo Justice. Presented by Live Nation, the tour begins October 16 in Vancouver, BC, and runs through November 16 in Miami. It follows the pair’s shared bill last year at the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre in Paris.
