Country music is a hot ticket these days. Just ask Kane Brown, who brought his Drunk or Dreaming Tour to the Bell Centre on Friday.

The night started off with a solid performance from trio Restless Road whose powerful harmonies have undoubtedly made them one of the breakout artists to watch. They even covered “Pour Some Sugar” during a mash-up of songs! The night’s other special guest Chris Lane, who is no stranger to playing with some of the biggest names in country, brought out his high energy and definitely left Montreal with a legion of new fans.

The event of the night,  chart-topping country artist Kane Brown came onto the scene, delivering exactly what the fans were expecting …and more. His true gift is his ability to fire it up with the perfect variety of classic country, boot-stomping pop-rock and a wide blend of sounds.

He treated the fans to all of his hits, and they, in turn, responded with an abundance of loud cheers and singing along word for word. His energy took the crowd along from one emotion to another with “As Good as You”, “I Love You Like Country Music,” and the highlight of the night, a special duet with his wife Katelyn. The couple charmed the audience with their single “Thank God” from Kane’s latest album “Different Man.”

“One Mississippi,” “Famous Friends,” and “One Right Thing” kept the crowd immersed in the country vibe and it is safe to say that the fans did not leave the building disappointed!

Kane Brown has undeniably created a spot for himself in the country music world, even though it can be argued that he can easily balance any genre into his music.

The Drunk or Dreaming tour continues on to other Canadian cities until Dec 18th.

*Update* Lasso Montreal just announced Kane Brown as one of the headliners for next year’s festival.
