IAM, TALK and Pennywise to Headline Drummondville Poutine Festival

Drummondville’s Festival de la poutine has assembled its most ambitious lineup to date for its 18th edition, running August 7-9, featuring French rap pioneers IAM, California punk stalwarts Pennywise, Ontario’s TALK and Quebec’s folk-punk collective Québec Redneck Bluegrass Project as headliners.

The festival’s strategic decision to move its dates forward by two weeks has paid dividends in securing internationally recognized acts alongside established Quebec talent. This marks IAM’s first appearance at the event, bringing their influential French rap catalogue to close Saturday night’s performances.

Thursday’s lineup opens with Montreal rapper Naya Ali, followed by pop artist Claudia Bouvette, who will showcase material from her recent album “Diary for the lonely hearts.” TALK, who topped Billboard’s Adult Alternative chart with “Run Away to Mars” and won the 2024 Juno for Breakthrough Artist, will perform alongside Quebec rapper Souldia on the secondary stage.

Friday night features Jérôme 50, whose “Tokébakicitte” became a streaming phenomenon with over 6 million Spotify plays. The evening continues with Québec Redneck Bluegrass Project’s energetic folk-punk fusion before Pennywise—veterans of California’s punk scene since the 1980s—makes their Drummondville debut.

Saturday’s performances include rising star Billie du Page, who recently self-produced her debut EP and opened for Grand Corps Malade at Montreal’s MTELUS. Jay Scøtt, a three-time Félix award winner known for blending folk with Quebec hip-hop, will precede IAM on the main stage. The secondary stage hosts Comment debord and the reunion of Mononc’ Serge and Anonymus, performing tracks from their 2024 “French-Canadian Metal” album and their 2003 cult classic “L’Académie du massacre.”

Beyond music, the festival maintains its culinary focus with ten poutine vendors from across Quebec offering regional variations of the province’s signature dish.

Festival passes are available for $65, with student pricing at $55. Individual day tickets cost $45, and children under 12 receive free admission.
