Jake E. Lee Hospitalized After Early Morning Shooting in Las Vegas
Veteran rock guitarist Jake E. Lee is recovering after being shot in an early-morning incident in Las Vegas, according to a statement from his management. Lee, known for his tenure with Ozzy Osbourne, as well as bands like Badlands and Red Dragon Cartel, was attacked on the street while out walking his dog.
The Las Vegas Police Department described the shooting as a random act of violence. It happened in the early hours, and officials are currently investigating. Lee, 66, was rushed to a local hospital, where he is in intensive care but reportedly in stable condition and fully conscious. While no details have been shared about the shooter or any suspects, police are actively working on the case.
The guitarist’s family has requested privacy during this time, as they focus on his recovery. “Jake is fully conscious and expected to make a full recovery,” stated his manager, adding that he appreciates the support from fans and the music community.
Lee first rose to fame in the early ‘80s, joining Ozzy Osbourne’s band and making a mark with his powerful guitar work on albums like Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin. His work with Badlands further cemented his reputation, bringing a bluesy, hard rock edge to the scene. More recently, Lee has led his own project, Red Dragon Cartel, continuing his musical legacy.
Though best known for his aggressive yet melodic guitar style, Lee has remained relatively low-profile in recent years, occasionally touring and recording with Red Dragon Cartel. Despite this, he holds a respected place in rock music, noted for his distinct tone and impact on the metal and hard rock scenes.
No further information on Lee’s condition or the investigation has been made available.
