Gorillaz will play Bell Centre on October 3, as part of a 22-date North American arena run that marks the band’s first extensive tour of the continent since 2022. Little Simz and Deltron 3030 are confirmed as support. Tickets go on general sale Monday, March 9 at 10 a.m. via evenko.ca.
The last time Gorillaz came through Montreal was October 8, 2022, also at Bell Centre, on a tour supporting Cracker Island. That show was part of a broader run that had EarthGang and Jungle sharing support duties at various stops. This time around, Little Simz joins for the majority of dates, with Deltron 3030 on all of them. The Montreal stop is one of two Canadian dates, with Toronto following the next evening on October 4.
The tour is built around The Mountain, released February 27 on the band’s own KONG label. The album is Gorillaz’s ninth studio record and was conceived in the wake of the deaths of both Damon Albarn’s and Jamie Hewlett’s fathers in 2024, within ten days of each other. The pair travelled to India to begin work on it, and the resulting record moves through Indian classical music, Bollywood-inflected hip-hop, post-punk, and soul, sung across five languages: Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish, and Yoruba. Its core theme is samsara, the cycle of death and rebirth, with a tangible spirituality woven through the record’s sonic palette.
The album pairs Anoushka Shankar’s sitar playing with archived vocal contributions from deceased former collaborators including Dennis Hopper, Proof, and Mark E. Smith. Tony Allen, who died in 2020, appears on The Hardest Thing, one of six pre-release singles. The living guest list is equally sprawling: Sparks, IDLES, Omar Souleyman, Yasiin Bey, Bizarrap, Kara Jackson, and Johnny Marr all appear across the album’s run. The Mountain received universal acclaim on Metacritic, with a weighted average of 85 out of 100 from 18 reviews.
The band previewed the record publicly well before its release. In September 2025, the album was performed live in its entirety as the final mystery show of four concerts coinciding with Gorillaz’s 25th anniversary House of Kong exhibition in London. Two additional full-album shows followed at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles in February 2026. The North American arena tour, produced by Live Nation, extends that run significantly, opening in Orlando on September 17 and closing on Halloween night in Seattle.
A KONG Card presale opened March 4, with an artist presale following on March 6 for anyone who registered at the Gorillaz artist presale page before March 5. VIP packages, including access to a Mountain Experience space and exclusive merchandise, are available through vipnation.com. The band is also scheduled to appear on Saturday Night Live on March 7, their first time on the show.
