Disturbed is marking the 25th anniversary of their debut album, The Sickness, with an extensive North American tour. The album, released on March 7, 2000, by Giant and Reprise Records, was a landmark in nu-metal and a commercial success, achieving five times platinum certification in the U.S. Known for its intense sound and frontman David Draiman’s signature vocal stylings, the record includes tracks like “Stupify” and “Down With the Sickness,” which became the band’s defining anthem.
The tour, set to begin February 25 in Nampa, Idaho, will take Disturbed across the United States through two separate legs. The first leg will wrap up on March 21 in New York City, featuring support from Three Days Grace and Sevendust. This lineup marks a notable occasion, with Three Days Grace recently welcoming back former lead singer Adam Gontier alongside Matt Walst, creating a unique mix of past and present for the band.
The second leg kicks off on March 29 in Cincinnati, Ohio, with Daughtry and Nothing More taking over the support slots. This segment will carry through until May 17, ending in Las Vegas. The combination of these acts speaks to Disturbed’s ongoing appeal and ability to bridge generations of rock fans, both in the nu-metal scene and beyond.
The Sickness tour gives fans a chance to revisit the album that introduced the world to Disturbed’s hard-hitting sound, driven by Draiman’s unforgettable “ooh-wah-ah-ah-ah” vocal hook on “Down With the Sickness.” Reflecting on the album’s impact, Draiman has often spoken about how the song resonated with fans, cementing it as a staple in the band’s live performances over the years.
Pre-sales for the tour begin on October 15 at 10 a.m. local time, with general ticket sales launching on October 18 via Disturbed’s official website. As the band wraps up the North American leg, additional dates in the U.K. and Europe are expected to be announced soon, making this a global celebration for fans of The Sickness.
