Attending the Cypress Hill concert at Place Bell in Laval was nothing short of electrifying. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be a night to remember. The thick, unmistakable scent of weed lingered in the air—almost as if you could smell it from a mile away—setting the tone for an authentic Cypress Hill experience.

The evening kicked off with The Pharcyde and De La Soul, who delivered an inspiring performance that resonated deeply with the crowd. Despite the heartbreaking loss of their bandmate Dave (Trugoy the Dove), they carried on with remarkable energy and passion. Midway through their set, the atmosphere reached new heights when Talib Kweli joined them on stage, adding an unexpected and thrilling dynamic to their performance.

When Cypress Hill took the stage, the energy surged. The crowd erupted as they launched into “Hand on the Pump” and “A to K.” They played over 20 songs—some just a few verses, like in the Weed Medley. The raw intensity of “I Ain’t Going Out Like That” reverberated through the venue, with the bassline shaking the floor beneath our feet. “Insane in the Brain” had everyone on their feet, jumping and shouting along with fervour. “Rockstar” showcased their versatility and kept the momentum high, captivating both long-time fans and newcomers alike. And to finish off the party, they decided to do a little tour get-together with the other two bands on a cover of “Jump Around.”

Overall, it was a phenomenal experience—a testament to the enduring legacy and influence of both Cypress Hill and De La Soul. A night of unforgettable music, camaraderie, and pure, unfiltered energy.
