Prog-rock veterans Coheed and Cambria have announced their latest studio album, Vaxis – Act III: The Father of Make Believe, slated for release on March 14, 2025, through Virgin Music Group. The record is the third instalment in their ongoing Vaxis narrative, which continues to expand the universe of The Amory Wars.
Accompanying the announcement, the band has released a new single, “Searching for Tomorrow,” along with an animated video directed by Anthony Scheppard. The song takes a melodic, hook-driven approach reminiscent of earlier fan favourites like “A Favor House Atlantic.” It follows the heavier, riff-focused “Blind Side Sonny,” another track from the upcoming album.

The album release will also include a limited-edition box set. This collector’s package features a CD and digital version of the album, a hardcover illustrated novella, and several exclusive items: a wearable “Blind Side Sonny” helmet, neuro-dynamic display goggles (with a customization app), and a signed in-universe “Death Certificate.”
Coheed has also announced key live appearances for 2025, including Tool’s curated destination festival in Punta Cana and the return of their S.S. Neverender cruise. This year’s cruise lineup includes Thursday, L.S. Dunes, Illuminati Hotties, Pool Kids, and Puddles Pity Party, among others.
In related news, L.S. Dunes—featuring Coheed’s guitarist Travis Stever alongside members of Thursday, My Chemical Romance, and Circa Survive—will release their sophomore album, Violet, in January.
