Toronto alt-rock duo cleopatrick play Theatre Fairmount on Saturday 17 October, the final stop on a three-date Canadian run through Ottawa and Quebec City this week. The show lands two days after the band released a new single, WHAAT, and announced a 36-date world tour for 2027.
WHAAT is produced by cleopatrick and Zig Production House, the team behind the band’s 2021 debut BUMMER, and arrives via Nowhere Special Recordings/Thirty Tigers with a video directed by Adit Dixit. Guitarist and vocalist Luke Gruntz said the track reflects a looser approach to the band’s songwriting: “It’s loose, but confident. Something shifted in our process this past year. It feels like there’s been some channeling going on. We’ve been getting out of the way of the music and just letting it happen.”
The release comes with word of an extensive 36-date headline tour, opening in Paris on 27 February 2027 and running through the UK and Europe before crossing to North America, wrapping with a hometown show at Toronto’s HISTORY on 22 May 2027. Tickets for the full run go on sale Friday 16 October at 10am local time.
Before any of that, cleopatrick play two more Canadian dates this week: Ottawa’s Bronson Centre on 15 October and Quebec City’s Grizzly Fuzz on 16 October, immediately ahead of the Montreal show. Tickets for all three Canadian dates are on sale now.
Cleopatrick, made up of Cobourg, Ontario natives Luke Gruntz and Ian Fraser, earned a JUNO nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year behind their 2021 debut BUMMER and won a SOCAN Award in the Rock category for their 2022 single hometown. Their 2025 sophomore album FAKE MOON was recorded in Brooklyn with producer Philip Weinrobe and features guitarist Mike Haldeman. The band also released a 12-track anniversary mixtape, SCRAP, gathering previously unreleased material and lost recordings.
