Charlotte Cornfield Shares New Single With Feist

Charlotte Cornfield released Living With It today, a new single featuring Feist from her upcoming album Hurts Like Hell, arriving March 27 via Next Door Records in Canada and Merge Records worldwide. The Toronto singer-songwriter connected with Feist through a group chat for touring musician mothers, and the collaboration came together after producer Philip Weinrobe reached out on Cornfield’s behalf.

“I had secretly dreamed of having her sing on the record and mentioned it to Phil Weinrobe, who she is also friends with,” Cornfield said. “When Phil reached out and she said yes, I sent her a couple of songs, hoping she would gravitate towards this one. She did, and she added her Feist magic to it, which is undeniable.” The song deals with the end of a relationship, with Cornfield singing, “Maybe I’m just better at living with it than you are, but I’m the one crying in my car, telling you to go when I want you to stay.”

Hurts Like Hell is Cornfield’s sixth album and her first since the birth of her daughter in 2023. She recorded it at Weinrobe’s Sugar Mountain studio in January 2025 with a full band including Palehound’s El Kempner on guitar and vocals, Lake Street Dive’s Bridget Kearney on bass and vocals, Adam Brisbin on guitar and pedal steel, and Sean Mullins on drums. Núria Graham contributed piano and Daniel Pencer played saxophone. Beyond Feist, guest vocalists include Buck Meek, Christian Lee Hutson, and Maia Friedman.

The video for Living With It was directed by Ali Vanderkruyk and Sara Melvin and features Celia Green, Augusto Bitter, Feist, and Cornfield. It follows the album’s title track, which featured Buck Meek, released earlier in the cycle.

Cornfield kicks off a North American tour March 31 in Brooklyn at Public Records. The run includes stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Toronto, where she plays Lula Lounge on April 9. Hurts Like Hell is available for pre-save now.
