Central Cee @ MTelus

Central Cee brought greatness to MTELUS on Friday for the last stop of his “Can’t Rush Greatness” tour.

Opening night 1 was DJ Andy Purnell, who played all the recent hits for an eager crowd. Using creative mixes and lyrical similarities to transition from track to track, his set was a blur in the best way possible. From Kendrick to Drake to UK drill, the energy never dropped.

Throughout his performance, Andy told the crowd they were the best of the tour so far, which only fueled the energy. Fans went even harder, dancing and jumping along to some of today’s most viral songs. Every beat drop felt louder than the last.

Up next was Cench, who burst onto the stage to “Doja,” with high energy and was met by an equally excited crowd. He quickly let everyone know that this was his final North American stop before heading to Australia and New Zealand, and the crowd made sure to show him love for it.

From the start, Central Cee had full control. Whether it was fans shouting lyrics word for word or hands flying in the air, the connection between artist and audience was clear. He performed a mix of songs from his new tape along with classics like “Let Go,” “Obsessed With You,” and “Sprinter,” making the show feel both fresh and familiar.

But as the show went on, the toll of touring showed. During the second half, Central Cee moved around less and sat on stage for long stretches. His voice and presence stayed strong, but the drop in movement was noticeable. Still, the crowd held him up, filling in lyrics and keeping the energy alive.

To end the night, he performed “BAND4BAND” followed by “No Introduction.” He bowed, thanked the crowd for their support, and exited the stage without dragging it out.

Overall, night 1 of Central Cee’s Montreal stop was a success. Even with a slower second half, the show was a reminder of why he’s one of the most exciting voices in UK rap right now, and it set the tone for a strong final night.
