Angèle released her third studio album, Instinct, on 16 October through GGL Records and Sony Music, and will bring it to the Bell Centre on 17 April 2027. Montreal is the first North American stop on the 2027 Instinct world tour, four days ahead of Brooklyn Paramount in New York and a week before the Wiltern in Los Angeles.
The Belgian singer, songwriter and producer wrote, composed and produced the songs herself before bringing in others, starting with her longtime friend and co-producer Tristan Salvati. The 13-track album is sung in French and English. Justice appear on What You Want, Flemish duo Soulwax on Trop, and Caroline Polachek and SebastiAn on Love Triangle. British songwriter and producer Oscar Scheller co-wrote F4ck 4ever, and Au revoir came out of a session with Swedish producer Elvira Anderfjärd, Luka Kloser and Oscar Holter.
“For years, I sometimes preferred inventing stories with people who weren’t right for me rather than being alone,” Angèle says of Au revoir. “With this song, I bid farewell to that emotional dependency, in a mix of French and English because it felt right.”
She recorded at ICP studios in Brussels, La Fabrique in the south of France, Electric Lady Studios in New York and in apartments turned into home studios. On Je sais she addresses her father, Marka. The choreographic collective (LA)HORDE, who worked on Madonna’s Celebration Tour and Rosalía’s LUX Tour, oversaw the album’s visual direction.
Angèle broke through in 2017 with La Loi de Murphy, followed by Brol (2018) and Nonante-Cinq (2021). She has recorded with Dua Lipa and performed Nightcall with Phoenix and Kavinsky at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The tour opens 3 March at Reims Arena and includes five nights at the Accor Arena in Paris.
