September is the month Montreal stops pretending summer is over and just books everything at once. Rush open the month at the Bell Centre on their first tour in eleven years, Iron Maiden bring Megadeth and Anthrax to Parc Jean-Drapeau, and AC/DC roll the Power Up stadium show into the same park nine days later. On the other end of the scale, YHWH Nailgun are squeezing eleven minutes of new material into La Sala Rossa, The Belair Lip Bombs land at Cabaret Foufs, and Towa Bird plays Bar le Ritz PDB the same night Sabaton fill Place Bell.
In between there is Arlo Parks and Alabama Shakes at MTelus, Kim Gordon and Nation Of Language at Theatre Beanfield, Aldous Harding at Le National, The Charlatans at Fairmount Theatre, and a genuinely brutal Monday night with Dying Fetus and Sanguisugabogg at L’Olympia. Weezer, Mastodon, Shaboozey, Jungle, Yeat, Kamelot, José González, the Sex Pistols and Russian Circles round it out. Here’s a glimpse of the outstanding concerts coming to Montreal this month. Rush
Rush are on the Fifty Something Tour, their first tour in eleven years and their first live outing without drummer Neil Peart since 1974. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are joined by drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, a lineup that debuted at the 2026 Juno Awards.

Iron Maiden
The Run For Your Lives World Tour marks 50 years since Iron Maiden formed in 1975, with a setlist drawn from the band’s first nine albums. It is also their first tour in more than four decades without Nicko McBrain, who retired from touring in December 2024, with Simon Dawson behind the kit.

Arlo Parks
Arlo Parks released her third album, Ambiguous Desire, on 3 April 2026 through Transgressive Records. Written as she was becoming immersed in club culture, it carries strobing synths, breakbeats and UK garage influences under the same intimate, poetic writing that made her name.

José González
José González returns with Against the Dying of the Light, released 27 March 2026 on City Slang and his first album in five years after Local Valley. Thirteen songs of feather-light voice, guitar and minimal overdubs, with a title drawn from philosopher Toby Ord by way of Dylan Thomas.

AC/DC
The Power Up tour puts AC/DC in the largest stadiums on the continent, and the 2026 leg has been working its way across South America and North America since February. Recent setlists have opened on “If You Want Blood” and closed on “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)” across a two hour ten minute run.

Kim Gordon
Kim Gordon released Play Me on 13 March 2026 via Matador Records, again produced by Justin Raisen. After the guitar rock of No Home Record and the experimental trap of The Collective, this one ventures into electro-pop and industrial territory, and it is the most jarring and pleasurable left turn any rock artist has made at 72.

Jungle
Jungle released Sunshine, their fifth album, on 14 August via AWAL, and the global headline tour behind it runs through North America, the UK and Europe this fall. The West London project founded by Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland played to more than 190,000 people on their last run.

Yeat put out ADL on 27 March 2026 through Lyfestyle Corporation, Field Trip Recordings and Capitol Records, an album he described to Complex as polished and meticulous, a deliberate departure from the pace he had been working at. This Place Bell date is a rescheduled show, moved from July.

Aldous Harding
Aldous Harding released Train on the Island on 8 May 2026 via 4AD, her fifth album and her first since Warm Chris in 2022. John Parish produces again, with pedal steel from Joe Harvey-Whyte, harp from Mali Llywelyn and drums from Sebastian Rochford.

Alabama Shakes

YHWH Nailgun signed to 4AD in May 2026 and released Magazine on 11 June: ten songs in eleven minutes. The New York quartet of Zack Borzone, Sam Pickard, Saguiv Rosenstock and Jack Tobias follow up 2025’s 45 Pounds with a fall North American run stopping in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

The Charlatans
We Are Love arrived on 31 October 2025 through BMG, the fourteenth The Charlatans album and their first since Different Days in 2017. Tim Burgess, Martin Blunt, Mark Collins and Tony Rogers recorded it at Rockfield for the first time since Tellin’ Stories, with production from Dev Hynes, Fred Macpherson and Stephen Street.

Dying Fetus + Sanguisugabogg
Dying Fetus formed in Maryland in 1991 and John Gallagher remains the sole original member, still on Relapse Records and still touring Make Them Beg for Death. Sanguisugabogg, out of Columbus and formed in 2019, bring Hideous Aftermath, recorded with Kurt Ballou. Doors are at 5pm for a five-band bill, so get there early.

Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock are touring as the Sex Pistols with Frank Carter on vocals, marking 50 years since the band formed. Nation Of Language released Dance Called Memory, their fourth album, on 19 September via Sub Pop. Support comes from Anika, whose third album Abyss was recorded live to tape at Hansa Studios in Berlin.

Sabaton released Legends, their eleventh album, on 17 October 2025 via Better Noise Music, recorded at Black Lounge Studios with Jonas Kjellgren. Towa Bird released her second album, Gentleman, in May 2026 with production from Patrick Wimberly, a record that untangles gender dynamics and queer desire across a run of pop ideas. Mastodon
Marrow Deep arrived on 28 August 2026 via Loma Vista, the first Mastodon album since Hushed and Grim and the first following the departure and death of founding guitarist Brent Hinds, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in August 2025. Lead single “Your Ghost Again” is a tribute to him. Deafheaven bring Lonely People with Power and Alcest bring Les Chants de L’Aurore, which makes this one of the strongest bills of the month.

Russian Circles
Russian Circles released their ninth album, Nine, on 28 August via Sargent House, made in close collaboration with Kurt Ballou. The Chicago instrumental trio close out the month with Pelican, whose Flickering Resonance is their first full-length in six years and the first with founding guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec back since 2009.
